Before Liz Lemon, before “Weekend Update,” and before “Sarah Palin,” Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on television.
She has seen both of these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey’s story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live to her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty. From her life as a mother eating things off the floor to a one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon, Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we have all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.
“A spiky blend of humor, introspection, critical thinking and Nora Ephron-isms for a new generation.”
New York Times
“Fey leaves listeners laughing and longing for more.”
“One of the world’s cleverest comedy writers debuts with a frequently hilarious memoir.”
“Fey gives us a fascinating glimpse behind the curtain of modern comedy with equal doses of wit, candor, and self-deprecation.”
Amazon.com, editorial review
“Totally addictive and utterly enjoyable, this audio is an absolute must for fans—and just about everyone else too.”
Publishers Weekly (audio review)
“Part personal story, part comedy, and part career advice, Tina Fey’s memoir is full of her signature smart and self-deprecating humor.”
“This smartly written, satisfying compilation of essays is a delightful mishmash.”
“Offers…valuable insight into navigating gender politics.”

Awesome!May 9, 2014This was very nicely done. I loved the fact that Tina told the story. It really added to it all.
Possibly the funniest audiobook ... ever.February 10, 2014I'm biased. I've been a big Tina Fey fan for a long time. And this audiobook only showcases how funny she really is. Here is her memoir ... or rather, a series of hilarious essays strung together to fit chronological timeline of her life. We already know she's a great writer, what with her work on SNL and 30 Rock, but she's also a fantastic narrator. Like any good improv theater geek, she can't quite stick to the written text, and the world should be thanking her for that. As far as the actual content, it's all top-notch. Her disastrous honeymoon aboard a cruise ship makes me giggle even as I type this. In short, this is an audiobook you simply can't miss—just be careful where you listen to it. My raucous laughter wasn't much appreciated by the guy on the treadmill next to mine.
Funny and revealingOctober 28, 2013I’ve always been ambivalent about Tina Fey, neither for nor against the bespectacled comedienne. However, more than a few of my friends and colleagues recommended “Bossypants” to me, and so I gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. She told some very funny stories, her delivery was great, and there were even some clips from “Saturday Night Live” included in the audio. This was a very entertaining listen that kept my attention from beginning to end. Whatever your feelings about Tina Fey, at least give her a chance. I actually earned some respect for her, regardless of the fact that I don’t necessarily agree with her on everything. She’s just a woman trying to make it in a predominantly male profession.
Add my glowing review to the list....June 25, 2013Can anyone listen to Tina Fey and NOT laugh? This book is hilarious, smart, quippy writing delivered with amazing timing, a healthy dose of self deprecating sarcasm, and the ability to make fun other people and society without seeming mean-spirited or bitter. Bossypants is a wonderful blend of Tina's own stories and anecdotes along with intelligent jokes and the quirky humor that fans of 30 Rock, Mean Girls, and SNL know and love. She tries to downplay what a celebrity and writing talent she is with raves about her industry peers, but you're not fooling us Tina. LOVE this book, especially in audio.
Funny stuffMay 29, 2013Tina Fey is as funny in this book as she has been in anything else. Hearing about her background was interesting, but I didn't even care much about the "memoir" stuff so much as her humorous quips. The few times I've watched 30 Rock I didn't like it all, but hearing Fey talk about the show actually made me consider giving it another chance. It was also nice to hear a celebrity talk about realizing how lucky they are to be where they are. Overall the book was worth it for the one-liners alone.
Tina Fey is a wildly popular actress and comedian best known for her involvement with Saturday Night Live. She made history there by becoming the show’s first female head writer. Tina lives in Manhattan, where she is the third funniest person in her household, after her husband and five-year-old daughter.
