From the New York Times bestselling author of Watch Your Back and Did You Miss Me comes the newest novel by “the queen of romantic suspense” (Crime and Punishment).

Psychologist Faith Corcoran is desperate to escape the stalker who’s made her life a nightmare for the past year—desperate enough to run to the one place that has been her nightmare far longer. Both boon and bane, her recent inheritance of her grandmother’s old house in Cincinnati offers a sanctuary in which she can start her life anew, but requires that she face dark memories that resonate to this day.

She has no idea, however, just how close to home her fears still are …

Two college girls have gone missing in the area, and FBI special agent Deacon Novak is called to work on the case. When his inquiry unexpectedly leads him to Faith, he finds a beautiful and brave woman he can’t help but fall for. Soon they’ll discover that this seemingly simple investigation is anything but. Reaching back decades into Faith’s own past, it will shatter everything she believes to be true and will give terrifying new meaning to “flesh and blood.”

Editorial Reviews

“The mesmerizing Deacon and vulnerable Faith are complex, compelling characters who draw readers into Rose’s latest thriller. Her enthralling storytelling style and intricately layered plot—combined with palpable tension and a powerful attraction between Deacon and Faith—keeps readers hooked. A sinister villain takes the thrills to another level.”

    Quite An Amazing Story

    Jack Vincent January 15, 2017
This book is quite an amazing story, there are so many twists and turns that it's hard to keep up. The story is that of a woman who is being stalked in Miami and changes her name and location in an effort to leave her pursuer behind. Once she moves the fireworks begin and even though I thought many times during the reading of this book that I had it figured out, I was mistaken over and over. Karen Rose really does a remarkable job of taking the reader into the story and making you feel like your part of the mystery. The narration is just out of this world Hillary Huber is just so talented with her narration that I often thought there must be more than one narrator. So if you are looking for a wonderful who done it with action at every turn this book is for you.

Not my usual type of read, but captivating none-the-less

    Janet October 30, 2015
This is not the typical kind of book I would read, and I was surprised both at how graphically horrid the bad guy was and how graphically specific the love scenes were. Having said that, the story had many twists, red herrings and unexpected layers to the mystery. Also, while the love scenes were almost embarrassingly hot, they were actually very well done. Wouldn't mind a Deacon Novack of my own, if you know what I mean. If you're up for instant attraction, love, sex, compassion, mystery, fear, cruelty and gore, I recommend this book.
