In the 2014 New York Times bestseller Jesus on Trial, David Limbaugh made a case for the Gospels as hard evidence of the existence of God, drawing on his own spiritual journey from skeptic to believer. Now Limbaugh looks deeper into the scriptures and discovers that Jesus Christ’s very being reveals itself in a close reading of the sacred texts. The Emmaus Code is a powerful, intimate journey toward an understanding of Christ as man, savior, and son of God.

Bestselling author Kyle Idleman reveals that the key to the abundant life Jesus promised lies in embracing his inside-out way of life. "Knowledge is indispensable to Christian life and service," writes John Stott. "If we do not use the mind which God has given us, we condemn ourselves to spiritual superficiality." While Christians have had a long heritage of rigorous scholarship and careful thinking, some circles still view the intellect with suspicion or even as contradictory to Christian faith. And many non-Christians are quick to label Christians as anti-intellectual and obscurantist. But this need not be so. In this classic introduction to Christian thinking, John Stott makes a forceful appeal for Christian discipleship that engages the mind as well as the heart.

A Story of God and All of Us is a sweeping narrative that dramatizes some of the most important events and most compelling characters in the Bible, making the men and women of scripture come alive in vivid detail and dialogue. All the stories are historically and theologically accurate. Beginning with the creation of man and ending with the revelation of a new world, readers will revel in this epic saga of warriors, rebels, poets, and kings, all called upon by God to reveal his enduring love for mankind. Ultimately, God’s plan is fulfilled in the story of Jesus the Messiah, whose life, death, and resurrection brings salvation to one and all. Other prominent biblical characters dramatized in the story include Moses, David, Daniel, and John the Baptist. The book reveals the prophetic significance of the empires that controlled Israel (Egyptians, Babylonians, Persians, and Romans) and how these figured into biblical prophecy, especially concerning the Messiah. A Story of God and All of Us is a companion to The Bible, the epic ten-hour miniseries produced by the authors and televised around the world.

Christine Caine offers life-transforming insights about how not only to overcome the challenges, wrong turns, and often painful circumstances we all experience, but also to actually grow from those experiences and be equipped and empowered to help others. Using her own dramatic life story, Caine shows how God rescued her from a life where she was unnamed, unwanted, and unqualified. She tells how she overcame abuse, abandonment, fears, and other challenges to go on a mission of adventure, fueled by faith and filled with love and courage.  Her personal stories inspire readers to hear their name called, just as Christine heard her own—“You are beloved. You are the hope. You are chosen”—to go into a dark and troubled world, knowing each of us possess all it takes to bring hope, create change, and live completely for Christ.  Part inspirational tale, part manifesto to stir readers to lives of adventure, Undaunted shows the way with spiritual wisdom and insight. Her mission to fight injustice by focusing on one person at a time will inspire and awe readers to see how we are joined in a unique mission, products of eternity, positioned in time, pressed to make the most of our lives on a quest filled with adventure and drawn by faith.

God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it!  Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to: know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships;find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended;identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication;respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between;and gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.

In The Church Awakening, Dr. Charles Swindoll discusses the challenges, struggles, and priorities of the church in the twenty-first century. He reveals the problems inherent in the entertainment-based postmodern church and shows how a return to biblical teaching will restore its strength and impact. Now being replaced by a feel-good message instead of what Christians need to know to stand strong in a world that’s lost its way—Swindoll exposes the problems of—and solutions for—the postmodern evangelical church. Just as he opened readers’ eyes with his bold statements in The Grace Awakening, now he offers a straightforward volume revealing how to reestablish a life-altering church with Christ as Lord and Master. Illuminating and empowering, The Church Awakening will ignite a revolution in the way Christians “do church” for years to come.

In The Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Willard gracefully weaves biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice into a tour de force that shows the necessity of profound changes in how we view our lives and faith. In an era when many Christians consider Jesus a beloved but remote savior, Willard argues compellingly for the relevance of God to every aspect of our existence. Christians, Willard says, for the most part consider the primary function of Christianity to be admittance to heaven. But, as Willard clearly shows, a faith that guarantees a satisfactory afterlife, yet has absolutely no impact on life in the here and now, is nothing more than "consumer Christianity" and "bumper-sticker faith." Willard refutes this "fire escape" mentality and offers a practical plan by which we can become Christ-like. He challenges us to step aside from the politics and pieties of contemporary Christian practice and inspires us to reject the all too common lukewarm faith of our times by embracing the true meaning of Christian discipleship.

“When people describe my lifestyle or family as weird, I find comfort,” writes author Craig Groeschel.  Here, Groeschel shares his Christ-centered philosophy on everything from money to scheduling to purity, to help you break out of the normal rut and live according to the rhythms of God’s grace and truth of his word. Normal people are stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Many of their relationships are, at best, strained and, in most cases, just surviving. Even though we live in one of the most prosperous places on earth, normal is still living paycheck to paycheck and never getting ahead. In our oversexed world, lust, premarital sex, guilt, and shame are far more common than purity, virginity, and a healthy married sex life. And when it comes to God, the majority believe in him, but the teachings of scripture rarely make it into their everyday lives. Simply put, normal isn’t working. Groeschel’s Weird views will help you break free from the norm to lead a radically abnormal (and endlessly more fulfilling) life.

“I am very anxious that you should know something about the history of Jesus Christ. For everybody ought to know about him. No one ever lived who was so good, so kind, so gentle, and so sorry for all people who did wrong, or were in any way ill or miserable, as he was.” Charles Dickens wrote The Life of Our Lord around the same time he was finishing David Copperfield, but to listeners raised on a diet of Dickensian wit and indignation, his rendering of Jesus’ life may come as something of a surprise. You won’t find even the shadow of a Micawber or a Mrs. Gamp anywhere in this brief volume; no Pecksniffs, Podsnaps, or Mulberries, either. Instead, Dickens approaches his subject with simple reverence, retelling the New Testament in a manner suitable for his own young children—who were, in fact, his only intended audience. Indeed, he strictly forbade publication of The Life of Our Lord during his lifetime and begged his sister to make sure that they “would never even hand the manuscript, or a copy of it, to anyone to take out of the house.” It wasn’t until the death of Dickens’ last living son that the manuscript was finally published in 1934.

“Without a hint of exaggeration,” says Bill Hybels, “the ability to discern divine direction has saved me from a life of sure boredom and self-destruction. God’s well-timed words have redirected my path, rescued me from temptation and reenergized me during some of my deepest moments of despair.”  In The Power of a Whisper, vision is cast for what life can look like when God’s followers choose to hear from heaven as they navigate life on earth. Whispers that arbitrate key decisions, nudges that rescue from dark nights of the soul, promptings that spur on growth, urgings that come by way of another person, inspiration that opens once-glazed-over eyes to the terrible plight people face in this world—through firsthand accounts spanning fifty-seven years of life, more than thirty of which have been spent in the trenches of ministry, Hybels promotes passion in Christ-followers’ hearts for being wide open to hearing from God, and for getting gutsier about doing exactly what he says to do.

For every Christian who’s deeply fulfilled, there are many more who are “doing all the right things” but still feel frantic or frustrated…or who have decided that Christianity’s a failure. What’s missing? Like so many believers, Bob George began his Christian life in love with Jesus, only to end up feeling disappointed and empty. Drawing on those struggles and his years of teaching and counseling experience, Bob cuts straight to the heart of the issues that cause so many believers to start out excited—only to end up “going through the motions” or giving up entirely. The questions dealt with include: I know God loves me, but does He accept me? If I’m a new creation, why do I still struggle with sin? What does it mean to have Christ living in me? In Classic Christianity, you’ll see the way back to the life Jesus provided—a life free from the bondage of the law, lived in the newness of His Spirit, and secure in His love.
