From David Baldacci--#1 bestselling author and one of the world's most popular, widely read storytellers--comes the most thrilling novel of the year.
THE HIT
Will Robie is a master of killing.
A highly skilled assassin, Robie is the man the U.S. government calls on to eliminate the worst of the worst-enemies of the state, monsters committed to harming untold numbers of innocent victims.
No one else can match Robie's talents as a hitman...no one, except Jessica Reel. A fellow assassin, equally professional and dangerous, Reel is every bit as lethal as Robie. And now, she's gone rogue, turning her gun sights on other members of their agency.
To stop one of their own, the government looks again to Will Robie. His mission: bring in Reel, dead or alive. Only a killer can catch another killer, they tell him.
But as Robie pursues Reel, he quickly finds that there is more to her betrayal than meets the eye. Her attacks on the agency conceal a larger threat, a threat that could send shockwaves through the U.S. government and around the world.

Readers expect excitement and intrigue in David Baldacci's books, and Zero Day is no exception...As Baldacci's new hero narrowly escapes countless close calls, the pairing of the author's imagination and knowledge create a wild ride for the reader. Puller is gutsy, brash and likable. Best of all, he survives to reappear in the next book of this new series. The Free-Lance Star on Zero DayThis book is a definite one-day, 'edge-of-your-chair' read, with an ending that is a complete surprise. One of the best Baldacci's since Absolute Power, this is one that will have all suspense readers enthralled.Suspense Magazine on The InnocentZero Day is a nifty, paranoid thriller disguised as a murder mystery, and Baldacci advances it at a speedy clip with a nice mix of intrigue, tantalizing clues and the occasional explosion...Baldacci's books are fast-paced battles between good and evil.Richmond Times Dispatch on Zero DayA complex puzzle . . . Baldacci is a master craftsman.Associated Press on The Sixth Man

“A winner…nonstop action and twists…The best Baldacci novel in years.”

Associated Press

“[The Hit’s] pace is relentless, and Baldacci’s reworking of his perennial theme—absolute power corrupts absolutely—gives the book a sense of urgency and cultural relevance that many thrillers lack.”

Richmond Times Dispatch

“I pictured this book in a ten-word review: Page-turning, pulse-racing action, with surprises and thrills galore. Or as a one-word review: Mesmerizing.”

Deseret News (Salt Lake City)

“This is a page-turner of a book. You will see where it is going long before you get there but you won’t see who’s pulling the strings. Baldacci sets up a raft of villains that will keep you looking over your shoulder to the very end.”

Daily Express (UK)

“An engrossing, action-packed thriller.”

Examiner.com

“With a lightning pace, captivating characters, and astonishing twists throughout, The Hit is guaranteed to keep your attention from the first page to the last.”

Times-News (North Carolina)

“Agent Will Robie is a master of killing, and David Baldacci’s thriller is an excellent match for audio. Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy prove a formidable team in ramping up the tension…McLarty does the lion’s share of the narration, finding unique voices for Robie and the various agents, while Cassidy smoothly and clearly portrays the various women involved. The use of two narrators helps provide tension and a theatrical atmosphere. Great narration skills and plotting will grip listeners.”

The narration was superb. I just couldn't seem to give the story 5 stars. Can't put my finger on why. Buy the book you won't be disappointed.
