Is there a mathematical formula for love? Can a New York City tour guide with a gift for seeing what others overlook find it in time? This charming, modern romantic comedy recasts the classic love story of Cupid and Psyche in Frank Sinatra’s hometown with twelve original songs, from swinging jazz to indie folk.
When New York City tour guide Caroline Cates uses Euclid’s proof of perfect numbers to find true love on a deadline, she meets a pushy male matchmaker, Jimmy Foss, in a Sinatra impersonators’ club in Hoboken, New Jersey. Only Caroline can see Jimmy. But he’s great at bringing couples together, so she hires him.
Can this odd couple find Caroline’s perfect match in time? The answer will take you on a tour of fascinating fictional landmarks and help you solve the music-driven mystery that connects Caroline’s favorite overlooked landmark—the grave of the nineteenth-century poet Enid Hobb—to Jimmy’s family history and the #1 pop song of the spring.
“Blame It on Hoboken is a true delight for anyone who’s dared to pursue a big dream: a must for lovers of romantic comedy, independent spirits, classic myths, and the magic of music.”
Vivek Tiwary, Broadway producer and author of The Fifth Beatle

Engaging story and whimsical presentationJanuary 9, 2017I had the privilege of seeing Sharon's live performance of her previous book "Love, Santa", and to me, hearing her tell her stories packs a huge benefit over simply reading words on paper. Sharon imbues her characters with charm and a lightness that I feel serves the reader far better. The way this story unfolds lends itself not only to Sharon's unique voice, but a few worthy actors and some nice ambience sounds. It stops being a "book on tape", and you start realizing it's more like a radio play. The art of radio plays seems rather quaint in today's world of media saturation, but it's precisely this form where this type of storytelling can shine. Not to mention, there's some great music here too. Overall, it's a package that makes for compelling listening.
A Thoroughly Enjoyable Listen!January 8, 2017I thoroughly enjoyed the audio version of this delightful tale of one woman's quite literally calculated search for love on a strict deadline and the decidedly uncalculated, unexpected, serendipitous twists and turns that follow. With a memorable cast of characters and the soundtrack of original tunes by the author, hearing Blame it on Hoboken in audiobook format on your device of choice is the next best thing to watching live performances of this beguiling romantic comedy. I highly recommend!
Whimsical, clever, and adorable!January 7, 2017This is truly one of the most clever stories I've ever heard/read. So many ingenious little character traits, venues, aspects. From the 'sighologist' cab driver to the Friends of Frank club, this story just keeps getting more interesting. I swear, if it were a movie, it should be a Woody Allen film! If only he would consider directing something he didn't write.
Entertaining, witty and funJanuary 7, 2017This light-hearted, engaging, romantic audio novel is enhanced by original lively music. Blame It on Hoboken is an excellent choice when craving light, upbeat, yet mysterious and nostalgic entertainment. With deftly described colorful characters and scenes this is an enjoyable, relaxing yet exciting adventure.
What a fun book!November 19, 2016This is a hugely entertaining audiobook! It is quirky, funny and absorbing. The actors are great too. A pleasure all around.
