First in a series of Victorian historical romance - twists and turns and fossils.
- Started slowly and I couldn't follow who was who for 15 mins (they have first names, nicknames and titles) but the flowing writing, interesting background (fossilhunting and natural history in 1880s Britain) and romantic scenes took me over. The narration is excellent, distinguishing the voices as necessary, although sometimes a bit gentle, slow and languid for me. There are a couple of sensual love/bedroom scenes which are integral to the clever plot which is concluded smoothly. I would listen to more from this writer and narrator and there were two other pairs of characters who sound like they will get their own stories!
