I really recommend this book, i have now listened to it twice and downloaded the archive of the "happier with Gretchen Rubin" podcast.
It's a self-help book and also the story of Mrs Rubins research into habits with personal details and how her family deals with habits, the research and how they progress - so it's really nicely balanced.
It's fascinating to learn about why we do what we do and so iluminating to realize to what category of habit-builder you belong. I had several "lightbulb" moments, listening to this.
One of them is to tie a new habit to something else I already do, like do a few squats while brushing my teeth, consciously exhale before answering the phone, etc. Also, I now invest in "habit convenience" and make it as easy as possible to stick with a new habit (in my case, exercise).
