“A hilarious, touching new memoir.” People
“An Amy Poehler book? Yes please!” Time
Yes Please is Poehler’s first book, an autobiographical memoir of sorts that shows off the Parks and Recreation actress’ wit—as well as her wisdom.” Entertainment Weekly
“Whether she’s playing Hillary Clinton to Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin on SNL or climbing walls (real or metaphorical) on Parks & Recreation, Amy Poehler rides a wave of ironic, yet upbeat humor. In this much-awaited debut, the multitalented celeb writes with winning candor about sundry topics under the sun including, but not limited to, her experiences as a child of two Massachusetts teacher parents, early career calamities, television fame, movie fortune, and family happiness. This aptly titled affirmation qualifies as the perfect shelf companion to Fey’s Bossypants. Barnes&Noble.com, editorial review
“Actress and comedian Amy Poehler’s memoir is full of charm and life lessons, but what’s REALLY fun is how out of the box the audiobook production is. Listeners know they’re getting something special, unique, and a bit absurd right from the start when Poehler claims to be narrating from her own personal audio booth, built at the base of Mount Rushmore. Poehler sounds consistently warm, funny, and genuine, and it’s only a matter of time before she’ll have you laughing out loud. When she’s joined in ‘her’ studio by Seth Meyers and Mike Schur to reminisce about Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation” it sounds like we’re overhearing candid (and giggly) conversations between friends. Cameos from Carol Burnett, Kathleen Turner, Patrick Stewart (intoning strange haikus), and even Amy’s parents add even more flavor. What a treat. Winner of the AudioFile Earphones Award.” AudioFile
“Poehler steers clear of typical memoir fare in the book she calls ‘a street-level view of my life so far’…Though she mostly avoids writing about her recent divorce (‘too sad and too personal’), Poehler is otherwise an open book in this honest and even touching peek behind the curtain.” BookPage

Story

Funny , Fast Paced , Delightful

I listen to this book as like many people I like Amy Poehler . Well I was expecting it to be funny along the way . However it was much more than being funny it is a real insight into living out your dream from humble beginnings to super star ! I don't want to give away too much but I will say there is so much in this book seems to go by in a blink of a eye and leaving you wanting more.
