A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe. When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation? Rune’s heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. Editorial Reviews

“This gut-wrenching story of friendship, first love, and of course heartbreak is a must-read for fans of If He Had Been with Me and is best read beside a box of tissues.” Barnes&Noble.com
“I highly recommend this book with all my heart. Be prepared to ugly cry. Possibly more than once. I can almost guarantee that you’ll be full-out sobbing at some point. But know that it is absolutely worth every single tear, because the ending was more beautiful than I could ever have imagined.” Aestas Book Blog (6 stars)
"From the funny to the gritty, from the emotional to the uncomfortable, we’re convinced there is nothing this lady can’t write…This is the most beautiful, emotional, and stunningly written love story we’ve ever read…This book is as special as special can be.” Totally Booked Blog (10 “and our hearts are bursting” stars)

Total Tearjerker

This audiobook is a total tearjerker, remotely reminiscent of Tears of Endearment. The notion of another person “completing” someone is one I disagree with and this story, although promoting a pro-you-complete-me approach to romantic love, only reinforces my own belief. Sure, the sentiment is sweet, but when I heard the anger that engulfs Rune and his subsequent downfall over being separated from his childhood sweetheart, the trouble with the approach is all the more apparent. Still, the love between Rune and Poppy is so deep and strong that one can’t help but feel their love just as deeply.

PJ Ochlan’s narration as Rune is especially powerful, emotionally laden, dripping with angst and pain and sorrow. So much so, that it required me to take emotional breaks before continuing to listen.
