Book 7 of an outstanding series for those who like their action stories with good character development.
- As the 7th and possibly final book in the series, Bronson Pinchot served the series’ end with the same professional brilliance he’s shown in previous books. It’s not easy to maintain the degree of vocal tension and suspense Mr. Smith puts into these books, but Pinchot delivers. As post-apocalyptic stories go, Mr. Smith has built his story with book by book development of the zombie creatures and their mutations to where as a listener, you wonder how it can ever end. Here, however, in book 7, the story is brought to a rousing conclusion, cross-cutting from Europe to the US and showing the skill with which US President Ringgold, Dr. Kate Lovato, Captain Reed Beckham and Master Sergeant Joe Fitzpatrick avert a civil war and restore a modicum of calm. Definitely an award worthy final book.
