One whiskey-saturated night turns into something far more in the second stand-alone installment of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan. Fox Collins likes his life just the way it is. His siblings are falling in love all around him, but he’d much rather focus on his next story than on a serious relationship. However, when his latest one-night stand returns to Whiskey—this time for good—he’ll need to learn to trust his instincts to figure out if he can live without her in his life. Former dancer Melody Waters is finally ready to settle down in her grandmother’s small Pennsylvania hometown. Bad decisions and fateful nights have changed her path more than once, but now she’s focused on one thing: opening her own dance studio. But fate is a funny thing, and once again, she’ll be forced to learn that actions have consequences and some repercussions can not only change your life forever, they can also come back to haunt you … one broken promise at a time.

I Love Ms. Pearl!

I really liked this one! Fox and Melody are hot together! They fit each other in ways that I wasn't expecting and I definitely wasn't expecting the surprise they have to face! I adored Melody's Grandmother Ms. Pearl!! She is such a great character!! I liked how Fox and Melody work together to try to do what is best not only for each other but for their families and their lives in general. The only drawback I had with this book (and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that Melody takes the blame for way too many things. I don't want to go into it too much since it will give away some of the book but I just felt like as you grow older you realize that some things are beyond your control, and the major thing she takes the blame for was never in her control to begin with. Although it did set up a major point that happens in the end, so it does make sense. It just got a little on my nerves. But on whole and taking into account how that plays into the story, the book was a great read! The characters make you laugh and cry. And just reading how they grow together is an awesome thing. The narration is great and doesn't do anything crazy to get on my nerves which I really liked! On a whole it is a fast paced, good listen!

Fox and Melody - Will their one night stand lead to more?

This is book two in this series and it shows Carrie Ann Ryan at her best. This book is about Fox and Melody, he's a journalist and she's a dancer but they manage to find some common ground when they meet one night after partaking of one too many glasses of Whiskey, enough to loosen their inhibitions but not enough to incapacitate. They spent an incredible night together, for Fox that night with Melody was incredible, but then she was gone. He can't stop thinking and dreaming about her.

Skip forward three months and Melody is back and what's more, she going to make Whiskey her home. Will Fox and her work out? Well their chemistry is fantastic and their interactions are fun and they are drawn to each other so.......

This book has a beautiful storyline, which is well thought out it's about the past, the present and the future, will it lead to a HEA - I'm not saying buy the book and enjoy it for yourself.

The writing style of Carrie Ann Ryan is excellent as is the narration by Maxine Mitchell whos voice perfectly suited the story and the characters.

Perfection

This is the second book in the Collins brothers series. This is Fox’s story he is the youngest out of the three brothers but still older than the baby of the family Tabby from Montgomery Ink Series. The family is all close and loving it’s a wonderful. Even though everything is going great for Fox and his family, Fox feels like something or someone is missing. Fox can’t get a certain blonde outta his mind it was a one night stand that involved one to many shots of whiskey that night.

Melody has just moved to the small town of Whiskey to start a new life and to live with her grandma Ms. Pearl and help her anyway she can but small towns nothing stays secret for long.
Melody had hoped to stay under the radar but one evening as she grabs take out from the bar owned by Fox’s brother Dare she runs into the one person she’d hoped to avoid Fox. He’s the one night stand she’d hoped to forget but after seeing him the feelings toward him blossom instead of dying off and she’ll fight her hardest to deny them and him or anything they could have.

Overall I loved Fox and Melody! Something about Fox just draws you in and can’t help but love him! This is a wonderful read and the storyline is amazing!

Whiskey Reveals

I always love audios done by Maxine Mitchell. I don't have a single complaint about her narration/performance. She does a great job with each of the different characters and voices.

Whiskey Reveals is the 2nd book in the Whiskey & Lies series (Spin-off from Montgomery Ink). Fox is the youngest brother in the Collins family and he's closest in age to their little sister Tabby (Ink Exposed). Fox is also the least athletic of the bunch and more inclined to be reading or writing. Thankfully he's never been criticized from him family for being more creative than the rest. Fox himself admits that even for being a writer he doesn't quite fit in to that typeset either, but he's just gruff enough to fit right in with his brothers. He's not quite as ruff as Loch, and I don't think the town of Whiskey would be able to handle it if he was (one is enough lol).
Melody is trying to find her way, and is trying to find new start in Whiskey. It doesn't start off quite as smoothly as she hoped, her first night in her new town she meets Fox at his brother's bar and ends up with an awkward one night stand. As they bump into each other in the small tourist town often she realizes that its best to become friends if she wants the awkward to go away, but it quickly turns into more than friends.

I loved these characters. They are so great together, her nervous rambling is so cute, and he just jumps on the train and joins her in his own little rants. I love that hes different from his brothers but embraces it, other times when you see that in a character it leads to that character being very uncomfortable in their own skin, but Fox just doesn't really let it get to him. Yes he feel a bit self conscious as the reader knows because its brought up once or twice but he doesn't let it become a chip on his shoulder . He does what he can to keep up with the rest of the family but doesn't try to over compensate. As far as Melody you can see where she gets her grit and spitfire personality from. Her grandmother has such a strong personality it would have been easy to drown in that, instead she shines just as bright.

Love, Love, Love, can't wait for Book 3.

Gotta love Fox!

After a night of whiskey shots and lots of chemistry Melody and Fox had the best night of their lives. Three months later they find each other but Melody doesn’t want a relationship. It’s a pretty sweet story since Fox is a sweet guy with his own sexy side. Melody is turning over a leaf and decided Whiskey would be where she put down roots. There’s a little suspense with someone stalking Melody and her own secrets from the past. Fox is a steady rock by her side though even when she sent him to the friend zone. Lovely book on the Whiskey series! I can not wait for Loch’s story...

love Fox and melody

I totally enjoyed this audiobook. Melody and Fox's story was so sweet and wonderful. I also loved Ms. Pearl. The awesome thing about any book by Carrie Ann Ryan is that each book is focused on family, love and second chances. That is why she is an auto buy author for me.

awesome read

Book two of the Whiskey and Lies series a spin off to the Montgomery series by Carrie Ann Ryan.
We meet Fox in last book the younger Collins that own the local newspaper.
Melody comes into town to see Ms Pearl her grandmother and they have one too many Whiskey shots. Fast forward three months and melody is settling in Whiskey only to find Fox is a local and everyone is in each other’s business.
I really like that even with tragic history Melody is a strong independent woman that even though likes Fox a lot wants to start her new business off on her own.
My only pet hate is the excessive winking but that’s just me.
This book was narrated by Maxine Mitchell and at start I wasn’t sure I liked her voice but by end of character one I really enjoyed it and liked that each voice is well developed and can tell different characters easily.
Really like that this family isn’t too traditional and predictable love this writer and her HEA series

Love it

Wow this is a beautiful story. Melody and Fox are a beautiful couple. Their story is beautifully written and I love the Narrator’s voice. Carrie Ann’s writing style is very beautiful. She has a gift of writing a emotional read. Melody and Fox journey starts out different than what I’m use to reading or listen too. But it’s a true spin on what could and does
happen and I love the fact he’s a reporter and she is a dancer. I
absolutely love this story.

really enjoyed the story and narrator

I really love Fox. Such a sweet male character. Melody is a strong character trying to restart her life in a new town where her grandmother lives. The narrator does a good job with inflections and the way each character talks is a bit different. would recommend this story and the audio version.
