Almost perfect

I received the set on Tuesday (Dec 23) and have listened to 7 of the 17 discs so far.
The narrations are wonderful and the individual productions are some of the best I have ever listened to involving Lovecraft stories. This set is definitely one that I will listen to repeatedly.

I will gladly give the set 5 stars.

My only problem with the set is that there is no booklet or guide or listing or even any hint on the individual discs as to which stories are on what disc.
17 cd's to wander through to find one particular story?
Plus a small concern .... the paper slip cases that hold the discs will not survive any usage .. two of the three cases are already coming apart.

Story

Great Performances and stories - Shoddy Packaging.

In terms of the stories contained and their performances, this production is great. I had already read several of the stories before and I was already a fan of Lovecraft, so there were no surprises there. I haven't listened to the entire thing, yet, but so far all the performances have been excellent.

There is one major flaw with this production that is very irritating. There is NO track listing of any kind. Even on the product page there is no listing of what stories are contained or who the performers are. This is pure laziness. It seems to be a problem with many short story collections. To make matters worse, they don't even break the audio files into separate story tracks, which is absurd. Even without titles, if they had at least broken it down into "Track 1, Track 2, Track 3," etc. for each story it would be more manageable. As it is, you get 3 separate files and you basically have to listen through the whole thing, take notes, and then fast forward to whatever story you want. This is completely and utterly ridiculous. Blackstone Audio should know better.

If they fix this, I will give it a better rating.

Thanks for your feedback. We'll let the production department know so that they can take a look at improving the tracking and packaging.

Author Bio: H. P. Lovecraft

H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was born in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. His relatively small corpus of work—three short novels and about sixty short stories—has nevertheless exercised a broad influence on subsequent writing in the field. In fact, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential horror writers of the twentieth century.
