Editorial Reviews

Editorial Reviews

“While the novel’s premise may seem familiar, the strong character development and thorough world-building make it stand out from the dystopian crowd. Recommend it to fans of James Dashner’s The Maze Runner and other fast-paced, postapocalyse novels.” School Library Journal
“Apocalyptic dystopian fiction at its best. Angler’s sharp wit and dexterity with political themes are matched only by the thrilling suspense on every page.” Lis Wiehl, New York Times bestselling author

Fast Paced wonderful thriller

The Swipe Series is a fantastic read with lots of action, a real thriller. Although it is a middle-grade series, with main characters around 12 and 13 years old, adults will love it too. I know I did. I went straight away from the first book all the way through to the last, without a pause. (Not in one day of course, but it was hard to put any of the books down!) Basically, based on the Book of Revelations in the Bible, futuristic, but without talk of God, praying and church. The plot deals with the apocalypse and other references from the Bible, such as the Mark and the end of the world. Logan Langly is starting school and is only a few months away from his thirteenth birthday. That's the day when he can get the Mark, which will give him the full benefits of citizenship. He'll be able to get a job, to buy things, to take the trains, etc, etc, . But Logan isn't sure he wants the Mark. Because when his sister went in to get it, she never came back. What if Logan goes in and never comes back?
