Book store nation, in the history of mankind there has never been a greater country than America. You could say we're the #1 nation at being the best at greatness. But as perfect as America is in every single way, America is broken! And we can't exchange it because we're 236 years past the 30-day return window. Look around--we don't make anything anymore, we've mortgaged our future to China, and the Apologist-in-Chief goes on world tours just to bow before foreign leaders. Worse, the L.A. Four Seasons Hotel doesn't even have a dedicated phone button for the Spa. You have to dial an extension! Where did we lose our way?! It's high time we restored America to the greatness it never lost! Luckily, AMERICA AGAIN will singlebookedly pull this country back from the brink. It features everything from chapters, to page numbers, to fonts. Covering subject's ranging from healthcare ("I shudder to think where we'd be without the wide variety of prescription drugs to treat our maladies, such as think-shuddering") to the economy ("Life is giving us lemons, and we're shipping them to the Chinese to make our lemon-flavored leadonade") to food ("Feel free to deep fry this book-it's a rich source of fiber"), Stephen gives America the dose of truth it needs to get back on track.

Editorial Reviews

Editorial Reviews

“Imagine if Faulkner, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald teamed up to write the Greatest American Book. Now imagine that didn’t happen and instead Stephen Colbert wrote one. Because that’s what happened…America Again is a working of stunning clarity and bold vision, and it contains some of the best hyperbole ever written in the history of mankind…Sure to become a classic as treasured as Moby-Dick or the CliffNotes to Moby-Dick. I give it three thumbs up out of four stars.” Stephen Colbert, New York Times bestselling author of America Again
“Elections aren’t really a laughing matter—not usually. But America Again seeks to change that. Following up on 2007’s bestselling I Am America (And So Can You!), the writing team behind The Colbert Report delivers an election-time parody that employs the cocksure, egotistical voice of ‘Stephen Colbert’ to inform readers about how our country is ‘Americeptional’ in a wide range of subjects: like health care, Wall Street, energy, and, of course, elections. Depending on your political bent, you’ll rank this book anywhere from amusing to downright hilarious.” Amazon.com, editorial review
“A stimulus package for your funny bone.” Barnes & Noble, editorial review
“For better and worse, the book should make American readers feel proud to be Americans.” Kirkus Reviews
“Colbert returns to narrate another amusing and satirical trip down the road of extreme radical conservatism. Chapter by chapter, he tackles the big issues—from American exceptionalism to immigrants to universal healthcare to unions—with a straight face and a brutal wit.” AudioFile
“America is number one, except that it’s not, really, proclaims political satirist Colbert. We don’t make anything anymore, and our future is in the hands of the Chinese. Does Colbert have recommendations? ‘Feel free to deep-fry this book—it’s a rich source of fiber.’ Maybe laughing will help.” Library Journal

Hilarious!

This book isn't just Stephen reading his book, it's more of an audio comedy. It has sound effects and quips that you wouldn't get with the paper version! Read it AND listen to the audiobook! They are totally different and both hilarious experiences!
