Born and raised in Los Angeles, Steve LaPointe decided to act upon an incessant childhood fantasy that haunted him for over forty years. Compelled to do the unthinkable, he soon found himself on the legal system’s “Devil’s doorstep.” Armed only with a high school diploma and encouragement from his peers, he deftly recounts in The Escape to Cabo a dramatic true story of crime, apprehension, the courts, and ultimately, a term in a high-security prison.
