“Backtracking where the police have not, Wolfe’s able crew untangle the dead man’s connections, set off three more killings, and present him with enough facts that sting to pounce on the real killer. All the tricks in the trade.” Kirkus Reviews
“The elegantly eccentric and reclusive detective Nero Wolfe…[is] the obese, brilliant aesthete who solves crimes without leaving his New York City apartment.” Merriam Webster’s Encyclopedia of Literature
“Rex Stout delivers another Nero Wolfe mystery unabridged in a fine recording by Michael Prichard.” Library Bookwatch
“This tale of false accusations is adroitly performed by Michael Prichard. His staccato delivery and deadpan expression are a great match for Wolfe’s assistant, Archie.” AudioFile
