Author Bio: Charles Spurgeon
C. H. Spurgeon (1834–1892) served for thirty years as preacher and pastor of London’s six-thousand-seat Metropolitan Tabernacle, which his growing congregation opened in 1861. His writings, including thousands of sermons, are still popular with pastors and devotional readers.
Author Bio: Arthur W. Pink
Arthur Walkington Pink (1886–1952) was one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century. He was born in England and converted in his twenties. He served as a pastor in Colorado and other locations until he decided to concentrate on writing and speaking at conferences. The next year he started a monthly magazine, Studies in the Scriptures, which he edited until his death. His writing focused on biblical living and sparked a revival of expository preaching. His works include The Attributes of God, The Patience of God, and The Satisfaction of Christ, among many others.
Author Bio: John Owen
John Owen (1616–1683), known as the “theologian’s theologian,” was vice chancellor of Oxford University and served as advisor and chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. Among the most learned and active of the Puritans in seventeenth-century Europe, he was an erudite and accomplished theologian both in doctrine and practical theology.
