What must you do to be right with God? The Reformers broke with the Roman Catholic Church when they insisted people are justified by faith alone. But today many Protestants fail to grasp that keystone of faith. In Faith Alone, a Gold Medallion finalist, R. C. Sproul explains why Protestantism and Roman Catholicism split over justification in the first place and why that division remains an uncrossed chasm. Protestants must understand the biblical, Reformation view of the doctrine of justification to grasp the power of the gospel and proclaim it far and wide today. This repacked edition of a classic offers a new generation of Christians a clear explanation of the vital doctrine of salvation.

SIMULTANEOUSLY HUMBLE AND UNCOMPROMISING

This book is a brief, but excellent defense of the doctrine of justification by "faith alone". Sproul is emphatic on the importance of the word "alone", here, and does not back down from calling out errors on all sides of the debate. He also breaks down the ECT paper in a way that is helpful for someone unfamiliar with that document, and gives a Scriptural response.

This quote nicely sums up Sproul's approach:
"To be sure, there resides in all of us a tendency towards obstinacy and a resistance to being proven wrong. Such an uncompromising spirit is of the flesh, and is no virtue. To remain obstinate and unyielding in error, is a sin. To be uncompromising with the truth of the gospel, is a virtue, and is demanded of all who would be servants of Christ."

Bob Souer did a great job with the narration.
