Virgil ‘Sticks’ Sinclair has waited twenty years to return to a boxing tournament he once dominated. This time around as a trainer, boxing is the last thing on his mind, longing for revenge on a ruthless promoter who betrayed him so long ago causes the crafty ex-champ to risk everything he has, even his life to get back what was taken from him. As we witness Virgil’s calculated plan unfold during the week long tournament (Lefty’s SlugFest) he takes us back in time when things were good in his life and his relationship with the promoter was brotherly and very profitable.
