In one of Heinlein’s most controversial bestsellers, a recruit in a future world is sent through the toughest boot camp in the Universe to join the Terran Mobile Infantry in battle against mankind’s most alarming enemy. Juan Rico signed up with the Federal Reserve on a lark, but despite the hardships and rigorous training, he finds himself determined to make it as a cap trooper. In boot camp he learns how to become a soldier, but it is in war that he will learn why. Many consider this Hugo Award–winning book to be Heinlein’s best. Forget the battle scenes and the high-tech weapons; this is Heinlein in his element, talking people and politics.

Hi James, Thanks for letting us know about the issue with the audio quality. It has been reported to the publisher.
-
One of the best books I have read.
-
There are only a few books that I, personally, have thought were worth reading more than once. Atlas Shrugged, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and Starship Troopers.
I only had the movie to guide me, and WOW, did they totally pull that script out of thin air. Starship Troopers also has a decent ending. I have listened to a lot of Robert A. Heinlein books, and they all end abruptly, like he got bored, and just wanted to end the book.
Starship Troopers is about life, becoming an adult, and understanding your place in the greater scheme of the universe. Understanding your history, and how we as a civilization, have gotten to where we are - good or bad as it is. Although this book was written in the 1950's, I am astonished at how accurately Heinlein predicted what is now present day, America.

Every few minutes, the voice is muffled, with less clarity..
-
It seems like they forgot to read every 8th or 9th page, & came back later to an inferior studio to read them, & digitally edited back in place.
So far the story is excellent. Don't even bother comparing it to the 1997 Paul Verhoeven movie. Familiarity is there, but lots of differences..
