Leon Uris (1924-2003) was an American novelist. Having ran away from home at age seventeen, a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, to join the Marine Corps, he based several of his novels on his own experiences in the Marines. His novels include Battle Cry and O’Hara’s Choice, as well as the bestsellers Redemption, Trinity, Exodus, QB VII, and Topaz, among others.
