Sultans in China? Muslims who Drink? Why not?

None of it makes any sense, but that's not important. It's the tales that count, and these are superb yarns, superbly read by Johanna Ward.
Getting the original versions--or at least versions closer to the originals than those horrible stop-action monster movies of Sinbad that haunted my afternoons when I was young--was a real treat (and a nice change after the intricate plotting and counter-plotting of A Woman in White). Yet another Classic that I should have read years ago, finally enjoyed through my ear buds on the train home from work. This recording would be a not-at-all bad way to introduce one's own offspring to Sinbad, Ali Baba, The Talking Bird, Aladdin and all the other the heroes, villains and cannibals who populate this enchanted world.
