Channel Three News is out to keep its ratings up.When a bestial killer starts sending in little packages of his victims’gruesome remains, it is the shot in the arm the news team needs. They play thestory to the hilt, with grisly death in living color. But for the show’sproducer, ex-star anchorman Tim Bishop, this newsman’s dream is a privatenightmare. Once before, a story on a maniac murderer had backfired on him, leaving his wife slain and his life in shreds. Surprised RR Irvine doesn't get more respect

I've read a few of RR Irvine's books at this point, and this is my first experience outside of his Moroni Traveller series. This is a fun book (notice there is no exclamation point or capital letter). You won't learn anything. You won't offend anyone by offering an opinion. People reading over your shoulder won't be shocked at the prose. In fact you could probably read or listen to this continuously in one night. It's probably PERFECT (notice the caps) for a long-ish car ride where it needs to be exciting enough to keep you awake, but not an important enough story to press 'pause' when you start fumbling for change in the ashtray and under the seats to pay at the inevitable tollbooth---then ask the bored to tears yet somehow belligerent tollbooth associate how many miles it is to the nearest Starbucks ( and NO, Tim Horton's or Seattle's Best is not a suitable alternative!) Suddenly realizing you turned the volume down in anticipation for this exchange about a mile and a half ago...coming back to the story realizing you missed nothing really important and don't really feel the need to track back or "rewind"(if that's even still a thing) back about 3 minutes. Something about a TV producer who is being stalked by a serial killer who killed his wife and is now after him and his animal loving girlfriend. I remember the story, but forget the characters. I liked it...not LIKE like...just like.
