Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell, trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree. Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has ever met. Cormac "the Hurricane" O'Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the misfire. He's never been knocked out before, but when he meets Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl he's ever met, she doesn't want anything from him. Just being around her makes him want to be a better person. They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some things are just worth the fight.

Steamy Irish Fighter

This was the first time I'd read a novel by this author & listened to the narrator. Overall it was a good steamy read. I liked the H/h and they had HOT chemistry! While I had some twinges with the abuse story, it did not detract from the plot.

Narration was well done, with distinctive voices for the males and the females. Loved the accents!

Loved It!

This book was not at all what i expected it to be. It was funny, warm, sweet, romantic, with a few sad parts that will make you want to cry. But over all it was a 5 star listen.

Con is an up and coming MMA fighter, Emily is a student. Con is a playboy, but when he meets Emily something in him changes. Emily is hiding from her past, scare her true identity will be revealed. The two become friends, and then friends that kiss. They will go thru ups and downs twist and turns, but in the end will love be enough to keep them together or will the past divide them?

This books is Narrated by Pearl Hewitt, this was my first listen of hers and let me tell you I Love her. I love her Irish accent and just the way she spoke and told the story just made me love the book that much more. RJ Prescott did a fantasist job picking Pearl to narrate this book.

I do hope to see more work from these two!!

Narrator made this book great

The Hurricane by J.R. Prescott

I read the audiobook format of this book and am really glad I did. The narrator, Pearl Hewitt, did an amazing job. She increased my rating of this book by two stars. This is the first time I've read J.R. Prescott. I found the book to be a little too predictable and yet I enjoyed the love story. I guess I was looking for more of the story like why was it even mentioned that Emily went to school when nothing more was added. Maybe I liked the characters so much I wanted to know more. It's hard to describe what exactly I felt was lacking. The book was just ok. The narrator made this an enjoyable read for me. If I would have been reading this myself I would have given only two stars.

R. J. Prescott was born in Cardiff, South Wales, and studied law at the University of Bristol, England. Four weeks before graduation she fell in love, and stayed. Ten years later she convinced her crazy, wonderful firefighter husband to move back to Cardiff where they now live with their two equally crazy sons. Juggling work, writing, and family doesn’t leave a lot of time, but curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate for family movie night is definitely the best part of R. J. Prescott’s week. The Hurricane is her debut new adult novel.
