LOVE THIS SERIES!
- I started reading these books with my 8 yo son to get him excited about reading. It worked! Six months later he is reading the books mostly on his own but we still read them together so he get the proper pronunciations down and can ask questions. He loves all things Greek mythology based. Over the summer I have him reading the some of the chapters on his own and writing a little summary about them. The only problem is that I would miss those chapters so I downloaded the audiobook to listen in between our time together. Another problem appeared...these books are really, really fun and I read ahead. Latin was my language in high school and I love the way Riordan has brought the old gods into the modern world. Brilliant and entertaining. Too bad they couldn't get the movies right...books are always better. I enjoyed the reader's performance but wish they would take care to watch for the proper Greek pronunciations of words. That was pretty annoying. Other than that I highly enjoyed this audiobook
