An alien ship rests over Water Island. For five years the people of the US Virgin Islands have lived with the Ynaa, a race of superadvanced aliens on a research mission they will not fully disclose. They are benevolent in many ways but meet any act of aggression with disproportional wrath. This has led to a strained relationship between the Ynaa and the local Virgin Islanders and a peace that cannot last. A year after the death of a young boy at the hands of an Ynaa, three families find themselves at the center of the inevitable conflict, witnesses and victims to events that will touch everyone and teach a terrible lesson.

Aliens Friend or Foe
- This audiobook introduces a novel idea, aliens who arrive on earth and claim that they are friendly, but are they? They’ve landed in the Virgin Islands in the Carribean, where they will remain, integrating with the local population, sharing advanced medical & engineering technology. They are short tempered though, so don’t get into a physical altercation with one or you may find yourself ripped in half, so sorry. The author presents the story from the viewpoint of a few well developed main characters. We are given a glimpse of life before & after the aliens arrive. I would have enjoyed the novel more if the author had gone into more detail into the thought processes of the aliens. At the end of the novel, I’m still not quite sure what their true mission was despite listening to the last 3 chapters twice. The book feels as if parts have been cut out. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a good audio book to listen to with the twists & turns that the story takes and the interesting character development, but it could have been great with just a little more. If I have time, I may listen to the audio book again, paying more attention to the alien’s thinking. I will update my review at that time.
