The Minor Prophets dramatize the character of God as few other books in the Bible do. According to noted expositor James Montgomery Boice, the Minor Prophets particularly highlight three aspects of God’s character: his sovereignty, his holiness, and his love. The messages of the Minor Prophets and their pertinent application for our lives should not be dismissed. This is volume two of a two-volume expositional and inspirational commentary on the Minor Prophets that integrates rigorous scholarship with accessible writing. Boice not only explains the meaning of the text verse by verse and section by section but also relates the text’s concerns to the world in which we live, the life of the church, and the realities of the Christian life.

Surpirsingly friendly talk without bombastic preaching
- For anyone interested in exploring how, if at all, the teaching of Christ and God are as strong today as they were in the ancient times of Israel, then this is a book for you. As eloquently read by John Lescault, the listener will see plainly that much of was taught thousands of years ago has application today, in spight of the downward trend in people committing themselves to religious doctrine. The big surprise for me was how Boice avoided being trapped in preaching and with plain and simple language had what some might think… a fireside chat. With so many notable applications for Boice’s research, the listener will not come away feeling as if he had been bombarded with proselytizing dogma. Recommended.
