Epic!

Wow! This book is a tour de force in the depiction of the war on drugs. It is uncompromising, brutal, and unflinching. It's one hell of a ride, and it will stay with you long past the time you read the last pages. Epic!

A great window on the war on drugs.

Winslow's book is a perfect fictional narrative describing the costs of the war on drugs. A mix of real life and fiction, the book never disappoints. If you are cognisant of history, some of the plot twists might be predictable but they are nonetheless effective.

Ray Porter does a great job of reading the book, using his Mexican, American, Italian and Irish accents to great effect.

Get Ready To Stay Up All Night !

This book moves along at a break neck speed and the story is just so engrossing that you find yourself like a driver who see a traffic accident and knows it's going to be awful but can't help but look. Ray Porter is the reader and what a talented actor / reader he makes the story come alive with his reading. I would listen to it again yeah it's one of those books enjoy !
