Abby was young, only a junior in high school. Her entire life waited before her, with big plans to go to college. Her parents were strict, stricter than most parents, and sex before marriage was not tolerated in her church. Jimmy was a high school senior with a basketball scholarship to an ivy-league college. When they meet at a party, one that Abby snuck out of the house to attend, their lives head down completely different paths when she ends up pregnant. Jimmy is determined to stand by Abby, but when her overbearing parents and their extremist church find out about the pregnancy, the young couple is torn apart, with devastating consequences. Pastor David Owens answers Abby’s call for help when she appears at his church. She is on the brink of suicide, threatening to take her infant daughter with her. David had been grumbling about his new position, questioning why God had sent him to this small coastal town, now he thinks he knows exactly why: he’s meant to save this girl’s life.

Great message!

Outstanding!! Started this audiobook late in the evening and spoiled my next day by listening through the night. It immediately held my attention, but more importantly truly brought tears to my eyes and made me feel emotions such as love and anger that just aren't typical responses to a book. For one, I have a close friend that went through a similar ordeal, although not as extreme, at the age of 19. Secondly, I feel the message is very important to Christians. For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. If sinners weren't allowed in church, not a one of us would be eligible to fill a pew on Sunday morning. While the extremists in this novel are extreme, as a Christian I've encountered these toxic people in the church and know just how much destruction they leave in their wake. Schwimley does a beautiful job of teaching this lesson, and demonstrating the difference between true Christians and the extremist nuts that are out there, also using this story to show what kind of damage can be done - even with the "best" of intentions. Left me so thankful that I'm forgiven for all of my sins, and that they have been separated from me as far as the east is from the west. No man can condemn me for the sins He's forgiven. Highly recommend to adult, men and women. Material might be a bit much for younger teens, so suggest parents screen before handing off to a younger girl. But should be appropriate for most older teens. ***This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.***

AWESOME!!! Best book I have listened to in a very long time!!!

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Am I ever glad I asked for it. There are no words to describe how wonderful this book is. I began to listen and couldn't stop. Although I had to stop to get some sleep. However, I finished it when I got out of bed the next morning. It is written very well and the authors did an excellent job with the story. I admit I had happy tears at the end. This is just such a feel-good book. Even with all the turmoil within the story. The narrators did an incredible job with the story. They brought the characters to life and made the story that much more enjoyable. What an awesome and life enriching story. Such an eye opener when I know there are people out there just like Abby's family, not to mention the wonderful, forgiving, loving family in the church. Thanks so much for giving us listeners such an incredible story.

Absolutely Amazing!

I enjoyed book one so much I was excited for book two and wasn’t disappointed! I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I love how the author tells Abby’s story and how it bounces back between Abby and the pastor! I highly recommend this book even if you have’t read the first in the series because it definitely work as a stand alone! I love how the lord is using this author to write such emotional books about everyday trials that we can relate to! Thank you!

Great Christian story

First off the narrators did a amazing job telling the story. Wow what a deep, heartbreaking story. Abby lives in a very stric Christian home and she becomes pregnant and now basically wanting to give up on life from all the emotional abuse. Abby reaches out to a new Pastor, Will the pastor be able to change Abby’s thoughts? Definitely a hard book to listen to at some parts but a book that all teenage parents need to read or listen to. 4/5 stars *** I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book ***

Couldn't put it down!

Although this is a 2nd book in a series, it definitely stands on it's own. I did not read book 1 and had no problem keeping up with what was going on. The story was so well told I felt like I had an investment in what was happening to the characters. I was sad, happy and very angry at and for the happenings. I love how the author wrapped the story up in the end. The narrators did a WONDERFUL job of the characters they were portraying. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and will be looking for Book 3!

An emotional rollercoaster

Twisted Faith, Book 2
: Victoria Schwimley

This coming of age YA book explores relatioships between families, young couples, religous groups and school friends. It shows how one event can evolve into a chain of events that effect a community. The story is told from two different prespectives, and how they interact. I found myself crying and holding my breath until the very end. Awesome work by the author and narration team!

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Kelley Mack, Conner Goff.

I loved this book!

I loved this book! Victoria Schwimly gets straight into your heart with the first chapter. I found myself swimming with the emotions of the characters throughout the whole book. I just kept waiting for the next axe to fall from Abby's parents, wondering what they would come up with next. I will be sharing this book with my 15 year old granddaughter, who is also an avid reader. I've listened to both books in the Faith series and am hoping for many more to come.
Narration was very believable and the voices of Conner Goff and Kelley Mack added much to the story.

I was hooked when I read the first chapter.

Twisted Faith

By Victoria Schwimley
Narrated by: Kelly Mack and Conner Goff

This is a continuation of Captured Faith; however, it’s a great book to read as a stand-alone. Pastor David has since moved on from his position as the youth pastor to become Pastor at New Hope Christian Church, a church in dire need of an upgrade of both its building and congregation. Shortly after accepting the position Pastor Dave received a call from a young mother in distress. As the conversation progressed, readers hear more of Abby’s horrific story. The characters are introduced excellently as readers are brought into the story. I felt as though I met each character and went through this emotional night with them. I appreciated how the congregation came together to help Abby and gained a renewed sense of faith for themselves.

I was hooked when I read the first chapter. I found it extremely hard to stop and I recommend this to all readers. I should also let you know my 12 year old listened with me and couldn’t wait to get back to it until we were finished. I listened to the audiobook and felt Kelly and Conner did an excellent job; even better than I could have done. Both voices were perfect for their character. I really loved this book and rate it with 5 stars.
