Favors Romance over Environment

I'm don't agree with the tack this adaptation took. The movie is primarily visual and leaves much interpretation up to the viewer. In this adaptation, we have a perception forced on us, and WALL-E suddenly moves from a dire warning of the consequence of rampant consumerism to that of a romance. This take on the movie diminishes its overt environmental message. Although I don't enjoy WALL-E being reduced to a love-sick dope, this is still a fun book. Some of the characters who saw less action in the film get more play in the audiobook, and that makes for a fun listen.
