R is a young man with an existential crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he has dreams. His ability to connect with the outside world is limited to a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. After experiencing a teenage boy’s memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and strangely sweet relationship with the victim’s human girlfriend, Julie. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His choice to protect her will transform not only R but his fellow Dead and perhaps their whole lifeless world. Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies explores what happens when the cold heart of a zombie is tempted by the warmth of human love.

Not your typical zombie story
-
I'm definitely not a big zombie fan, but I loved Warm Bodies.
It's full of tongue-in-cheek references to zombie sterotypes and Romeo and Juliet, but with enough witty writing and surprisingly poingnant reflections on humanity to keep it from going too far in one direction or the other. The descriptions of zombie life are a bit gross in the beginning...but it soon becomes more about the characters, and you're completely rooting for R and Julie by the end. Very entertaining. An unexpectedly fun read.

Outstanding!

I Love this audio book! The whole premise may seem a little corny, but the way it is written, you don’t even think of that.
The parallels that we have as people are reflected in the zombies. What happens to you world when you are in love? Aside from the comedic pretenses, that is the core of what I found in this audio book.
Smartly written and I could not think of a better narrator than Kevin Kenerly. This is perfect.

A Fun Zombie Novel
- Definitely a fun audio book that takes you on an interesting concept through the point of view of a zombie instead of a human. Isaac Marion does an excellent job at portraying that zombies do have emotions and a thought process. Even though at times they cannot remember them! For me this was also an interesting love story filled with a lot of humor. For me the narration can be rough at times since Kevin Kenerly is narrating as a zombie at certain moments. However, he does an excellent job at telling the story. I would definitely recommend this audio book!

Cute
- A literary zombie story? A literary *romance* zombie story? If you're like me you probably rolled your eyes a bit at that, but this really is a good story. Better than the movie, in fact. Being inside R's head is a delightful experience. How can you not love a philosophical zombie who falls in love with a human? R's inner thoughts are great, sometimes laugh out loud funny. I found the end of the book a little ridiculous, but the rest of the story was very enjoyable.
