One whiskey-saturated night turns into something far more in the second stand-alone installment of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan. Fox Collins likes his life just the way it is. His siblings are falling in love all around him, but he’d much rather focus on his next story than on a serious relationship. However, when his latest one-night stand returns to Whiskey—this time for good—he’ll need to learn to trust his instincts to figure out if he can live without her in his life. Former dancer Melody Waters is finally ready to settle down in her grandmother’s small Pennsylvania hometown. Bad decisions and fateful nights have changed her path more than once, but now she’s focused on one thing: opening her own dance studio. But fate is a funny thing, and once again, she’ll be forced to learn that actions have consequences and some repercussions can not only change your life forever, they can also come back to haunt you … one broken promise at a time.

Whiskey Reveals

I always love audios done by Maxine Mitchell. I don't have a single complaint about her narration/performance. She does a great job with each of the different characters and voices.

Whiskey Reveals is the 2nd book in the Whiskey & Lies series (Spin-off from Montgomery Ink). Fox is the youngest brother in the Collins family and he's closest in age to their little sister Tabby (Ink Exposed). Fox is also the least athletic of the bunch and more inclined to be reading or writing. Thankfully he's never been criticized from him family for being more creative than the rest. Fox himself admits that even for being a writer he doesn't quite fit in to that typeset either, but he's just gruff enough to fit right in with his brothers. He's not quite as ruff as Loch, and I don't think the town of Whiskey would be able to handle it if he was (one is enough lol).
Melody is trying to find her way, and is trying to find new start in Whiskey. It doesn't start off quite as smoothly as she hoped, her first night in her new town she meets Fox at his brother's bar and ends up with an awkward one night stand. As they bump into each other in the small tourist town often she realizes that its best to become friends if she wants the awkward to go away, but it quickly turns into more than friends.

I loved these characters. They are so great together, her nervous rambling is so cute, and he just jumps on the train and joins her in his own little rants. I love that hes different from his brothers but embraces it, other times when you see that in a character it leads to that character being very uncomfortable in their own skin, but Fox just doesn't really let it get to him. Yes he feel a bit self conscious as the reader knows because its brought up once or twice but he doesn't let it become a chip on his shoulder . He does what he can to keep up with the rest of the family but doesn't try to over compensate. As far as Melody you can see where she gets her grit and spitfire personality from. Her grandmother has such a strong personality it would have been easy to drown in that, instead she shines just as bright.

Love, Love, Love, can't wait for Book 3.

Gotta love Fox!

After a night of whiskey shots and lots of chemistry Melody and Fox had the best night of their lives. Three months later they find each other but Melody doesn’t want a relationship. It’s a pretty sweet story since Fox is a sweet guy with his own sexy side. Melody is turning over a leaf and decided Whiskey would be where she put down roots. There’s a little suspense with someone stalking Melody and her own secrets from the past. Fox is a steady rock by her side though even when she sent him to the friend zone. Lovely book on the Whiskey series! I can not wait for Loch’s story...

love Fox and melody

I totally enjoyed this audiobook. Melody and Fox's story was so sweet and wonderful. I also loved Ms. Pearl. The awesome thing about any book by Carrie Ann Ryan is that each book is focused on family, love and second chances. That is why she is an auto buy author for me.

awesome read

Book two of the Whiskey and Lies series a spin off to the Montgomery series by Carrie Ann Ryan.
We meet Fox in last book the younger Collins that own the local newspaper.
Melody comes into town to see Ms Pearl her grandmother and they have one too many Whiskey shots. Fast forward three months and melody is settling in Whiskey only to find Fox is a local and everyone is in each other’s business.
I really like that even with tragic history Melody is a strong independent woman that even though likes Fox a lot wants to start her new business off on her own.
My only pet hate is the excessive winking but that’s just me.
This book was narrated by Maxine Mitchell and at start I wasn’t sure I liked her voice but by end of character one I really enjoyed it and liked that each voice is well developed and can tell different characters easily.
Really like that this family isn’t too traditional and predictable love this writer and her HEA series

Love it

Wow this is a beautiful story. Melody and Fox are a beautiful couple. Their story is beautifully written and I love the Narrator’s voice. Carrie Ann’s writing style is very beautiful. She has a gift of writing a emotional read. Melody and Fox journey starts out different than what I’m use to reading or listen too. But it’s a true spin on what could and does
happen and I love the fact he’s a reporter and she is a dancer. I
absolutely love this story.

really enjoyed the story and narrator

I really love Fox. Such a sweet male character. Melody is a strong character trying to restart her life in a new town where her grandmother lives. The narrator does a good job with inflections and the way each character talks is a bit different. would recommend this story and the audio version.
