Membership

We offer a convenient membership plan so our members can listen to more without committing to more.

When you first sign up and become a member you will receive one credit. Then, each month of your membership you will receive one credit automatically. These credits can then be used to purchase most of our downloadable audiobooks. This makes it possible for our members to purchase audiobooks at prices significantly lower than retail!

Downpour Audiobook Club members can also purchase additional credits for $12.99 each while their membership is active. Please note that credits expire 12 months from the day the credit was added to the account. Members are also eligible to receive member-only discounts, savings, promotions and/or promotional items.

Downpour members can use credits as currency on Downpour.com!

Credits can be applied towards the majority of digital download purchases during the checkout process. It's important to note that not all audiobooks are available for purchase using a credit, and exceptions may exist. Generally, one credit can be exchanged for one audiobook download; however, as of our recent update, we no longer offer title downloads for more than one credit. Please be aware that credits cannot be used for the purchase of physical media, such as CDs or Mp3CDs. Additionally, it's important to keep in mind that credits expire 12 months from the day they were added to the account.

Yes, credits expire one year after the purchase date.

To sign up as a member, click on "Membership" in the main menu. You will be redirected to our membership page. Then, click "add to cart". Once you’ve processed and paid for your membership you will receive your first credit and can begin enjoying membership benefits!

To cancel your membership, you will first need to be logged into your account. Click on the profile icon at the top right of your screen. In the dropdown menu, choose account details. In account details, click on membership in the upper menu. From the membership management page you can edit or cancel your Downpour Audiobook Club membership.

The Mp3 file format makes it possible to store an average sized book on just one CD. Please ensure your preferred CD player is compatible with this format before choosing which format to purchase. Often, CD players will be labeled with verbiage such as: "Mp3 enabled" or "Mp3CD compatible." Most modern car audio players are Mp3CD compatible, along with most DVD/BluRay players. The manufacturer’s manual and specification section for your specific device will be able to provide additional information about disc compatibility.

Alternatively, regular CDs store the highest quality recordings, and are widely used in a variety of players. Due to the limited file size that a CD can hold, it is often necessary to span an audiobook over multiple CDs for the entire book to fit.
