The Lessons of Jonah

Aimed at ten to fourteen-year olds, The Lesson of Jonah includes a short story or wail tale about two seventh graders vying for the job of Student Council president. Steve is initially declared the victor, but when he is callous to his opponent, the votes are recounted and a runoff election is held. Steve is defeated—and has a hard time handling the loss.
