Story of the Amulet

The trilogy of Five Children and It, The Phoenix and the Carpet, and The Story of the Amulet all involve the same siblings and their encounters with “It”—a magical sand fairy called a Psammead.

The Story of the Amulet is the third and final installment in the trilogy and centers around the purchase of an ancient amulet that can grant Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother their heart’s desire—the return of their parents—but which first sets them on a journey through time to ancient Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and the lost content of Atlantis. The children promised never to ask the Psammead for another wish, but their adventures begin anew when they find the creature in a pet shop near the British Museum.
