My mom died when I was twelve and she made me promise her three things.

1. Never leave the house without lipstick
2. Go on a road trip up highway 1 on the California coast.
3. Never kiss a guy until I got engaged.

I’m now twenty-seven, still kiss free and I’m off on the epic road trip solo. Money’s tight so I’m camping the whole way, but I pack my lipstick.

On day two, my car breaks down, leaving me stranded.

I’m rescued by none other than my high school crush. He's all grown up, drives a brand new Landrover, and offers to take me on the roadtrip himself.
