Anatomy of a Gildy Episode Companion Audio

Here is a free, companion download of "Marjorie's Hotrod Boyfriend," the Great Gildersleeve episode featured in Peggy Adler's "dissection" of this classic radio show, in her book Anatomy of a Gildy Episode. 

In Anatomy of a Gildy Episode, Peggy Adler has "dissected" the January 29, 1947 episode of radio's The Great Gildersleeve, titled "Marjorie's Hotrod Boyfriend," which was written by John Whedon and Sam Moore, the show's head writing team. The manuscript includes Adler's transcription of the entire radio show; historical and biographical information about script writer John Whedon; and a glossary with detailed biographical and historical information about the people and various terminology in the radio script and in John Whedon's lengthy biography. Thus, this "dissection" reveals the show's "Anatomy." An e-book edition with the actual radio show's audio included is also available.
