In a world collapsing under the weight of fascism and war, A Promise forged in childhood, is a lighthouse for three friends entering adulthood in Nazi Germany.

A strong willed Jewish woman, Hannah is a target for the Nazi regime's systematic persecution and Hitler's "Final Solution". Her primary challenge is survival. She flees to Paris to protect her family, but Hitler's army isn't far behind as Germany invades France. She must constantly adapt and search for safety in a world determined to destroy her and her family.

Adam, a kind, intelligent and deeply loyal friend also faces persecution. He struggles to support his family amidst intensifying anti-Jewish laws. His fight for survival leads to a dangerous escape, but the ravages of war will soon find his hiding place.

Elisabeth, who embodies strength with gentleness, quietly endures life with her Nazi family as she struggles to protect her younger brother. She faces a different set of challenges, including navigating the complexities of her family's political affiliations and the moral dilemmas they present. She also confronts a dangerous enemy hidden within her inner circle.
