On Christmas Eve, Bertie Steffink, a rebellious nephew, finds himself locked in the family's cow-house as a punishment for his unruly behavior. While the rest of the family enjoys the festivities, Bertie is left alone to contemplate his upcoming exile to Rhodesia.
