Breadcrumbs is the first in a series of dark and spicy fairytale retellings. It is a reimagining of Hansel and Gretel as step-siblings who have been fighting their attraction for years. Rather than a hunched over old woman, the witch is a fiery redhead. There is a gingerbread house. There are also sweet treats and a cage, but that is where the similarities end, I'm afraid.
