Balraj Sahni was a renowned Indian film actor as well as a writer in Punjabi, English, and Hindi. In 1969, he was honored with the "Padma Shri" by the Government of India, and in 1971, he received the "Shiromani Lekhak" award from the Punjab Government. Initially, he wrote in English, but later, inspired by Shri Rabindranath Tagore, he started writing in Punjabi as well.
